. . . a selection of paintings

The vast majority of my paintings are acrylics on canvas or linen stretched over a wooden frame. The texture of canvas lends itself to my relatively quick and bold brush strokes. I developed a technique while painting murals to use the largest brush possible, an approach that I'm still very comfortable with.
A great deal of visual information can be conveyed in a single brush stroke.

The mid-century era marked the closing days of the golden age of travel , a time when exploring exotic destinations was a true adventure filled with discovery and exploration of authentic cultures. Travel was glamorous and just "getting there" was an exciting part of the whole journey. Luggage style did not escape the eye of industrial designers who made sure that travel gear was not only practical but fashionable and colourfully appealing.
